We are delighted to offer a small quantity of Sandeman 1945 Vintage Port with impeccable provenance. These bottles were acquired on release by the owners of Berwick House in Shrewsbury, where they were stored undisturbed until their sale in 2024. The bottles are in fabulous condition with excellent fill levels, good labels and slightly damaged capsules.

A Sandeman 1945 Port is a true rarity and a collector's dream and captures a moment in history, emerging just as World War II came to an end. Crafted during a pivotal era, this Port reflects the resilience and hope of post-war times. The 1945 vintage is considered one of the greatest of the 20th century, and Port wines from this vintage are highly sought after. The 1945 Sandeman Port is rich, complex, and beautifully balanced, with intense flavors of dried fruits, spices, chocolate, and nuts, as well as a velvety texture and a long, lingering finish.

About Sandeman
Sandeman is one of the oldest and most esteemed Port wine producers in the Douro Valley of Portugal, with a history dating back to 1790. Here's an overview of Sandeman Port:

Founding: Sandeman was founded in 1790 by George Sandeman, a Scottish wine merchant, and entrepreneur. He established the company in the city of Oporto (Porto) and began exporting Portuguese wines, including Port, to England.
